Lead(II) sulfate preparation
Preparation: Dissolve 10,00g lead(II) nitrate in 300ml water and slightly with constant stirring add 1,6ml concentrated sulfuric acid diluted by 100ml water. White product will form. Decant it three times with 100ml water, filter it out and wash with water and alcohol. Allow to dry at laboratory temperature. Yield is almost theoretical - 9,10g of lead(II) sulfate.
Pb(NO3)2 + H2SO4 ==> PbSO4 + 2HNO3
Properties: White solid insoluble in water and alcohol. Can be found as crystal clear or slightly yellow mineral anglesite.
